One of the biggest pressures for extractive business practices in mid-later stage companies is the uncapped upside for stakeholders. The pressure increases the more the company reaches its natural "service limit" - so the max amount of people it can be useful to. Memex has from the start been operating as a Steward Owned business that caps the upside team and investors.
Our aim is to gain the economic freedom to "do the right things" and to have incentives to regenerate instead to extract, And all that while still operating as a for profit company that can equip contributor/risk takers with safety, wealth and opportunity.
